The package contains nonfree car and track models

Warsow contains a library called steamlib which is built from the source. It’s useful only for Steam support which is nonfree software.

Uses that require explicit approval
Distributing a modified version of the Rust programming language or the Cargo package manager and calling it Rust or Cargo requires explicit, written permission from the Rust core team. We will usually allow these uses as long as the modifications are (1) relatively small and (2) very clearly communicated to end-users.
Selling t-shirts, hats, and other artwork or merchandise requires explicit, written permission from the Rust core team. We will usually allow these uses as long as (1) it is clearly communicated that the merchandise is not in any way an official part of the Rust project and (2) it is clearly communicated whether profits benefit the Rust project.
Using the Rust trademarks within another trademark requires written permission from the Rust core team except as described above.

Since it violates the freedom to redistribute without “explicit” approval, this is a freedom issue.

The man page of pacman says:

DESCRIPTION
        Pacman is a package management utility that tracks installed packages on a Linux
        system

And I propose to change “Linux system” to “GNU/Linux system”.

xmind when installed is showing that “this version is not licensed”, so that cannot be right. Even though there is GPL license on Github, that vague information in the software can and is wrongly understood:

Further it is asking for license key to get the “Pro” version.

Thus xmind is pointing to proprietary software.

That means xmind shall be removed from Hyperbola immediately as such as it is now cannot be in the fully free GNU distribution.

Please repackage or replace with free software which provides similar functionality such as MacroFusion (which is available in the AUR).

The package cannot be installed. Here is the terminal output:

When running QtEmu for the first time and running the new machine wizard, the software lists non-free operating systems and refers to GNU/Linux as Linux.

It would be nice to list LibertyBSD in the list of distros in this software in addition to GNU/Linux and GNU/Hurd (which are listed in aqemu).

In the latest version fixes several issues and font improvements[1], but unfortunately there is a major problem contained five three non-libre/free typefaces in the source code.

• Apple II (1977): a licence forbids to sell and modify. Already removed
• Commodore PET (1977): a licence forbids to sell and modify. Already removed
• Atari 400/800 (1979): in the latest version, there is a vague term “freeware”[2] in documentation, but forbids to sell and modify.
• Commercial 64 (1982): a licence forbids to sell. Already removed
• Monaco (modern): proprietary from Apple.

Also, I attached three QML source code diff files down below, by removing and replacing strings.

A Syriac typeface family series of Beth Mardutho’s Meltho is considered as non-libre/free because a licence forbids to modify[1], and should be removed immediately.

pip allows the user to search and install packages from the PyPi repository, which contains proprietary software.

Please remove as plugin is only useful with Skype hosted by a single company on a single server as far as I can tell (unlike pidgin-sipe).

Contains many other (old and dead) non-FSDG distro and software archive and repo FTP sites, and must remove carefully.

Description:

• Arch distributes a version of man-pages with manual pages from the POSIX standard. The man-pages project is permitted to distribute them and Andries Brouwer assumes that re-distribution by vendors is permitted as well. However, modification is definitively not allowed, hence this contribution by The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and The Open Group render the entire man-pages package nonfree. The way to solve it is remove all nonfree POSIX manual pages from man-pages package.

Steps to reproduce: Flatpak gives access to interesting features for the deployment of applications, but in fact it also gives access to proprietary applications like Skype (https://flathub.org/apps/details/com.skype.Client), Steam (https://flathub.org/apps/details/com.valvesoftware.Steam) and many more. So it should be checked if this should be part of the repositories within an open, libre distribution. In my point of view this violates the freedom of users, because there can be not tolerance about intolerance even regarding this.

The audioplayer clementine uses interfaces for non-free services like Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, Subsonic and VK.com regarding storage and accessing files. So of course the software is licensed under the GPL, therefore Copyleft and free, libre software in the first place, but is also using anti-features with those interfaces to mentioned unfree services later on.

So the proposal would be: Creating a fork with removing those interfaces or otherwise removal of the whole package.

About that distro, Elementary OS is semi-libre/free, Ubuntu based, long term support, but does not comply with the GNU Free System Distributibution Guidelines (FSDG). To either rebrand or remove existing non-FSDG compliant distro icon files.

I’m writing here about the package Conky. It is the useful widget of system monitor into your desktop, but there are some serious issues:

Config variables

• distribution outputs the string “Arch Linux” instead of “Hyperbola GNU/Linux-libre”.
• eve requires users to use API for non-libre/free video game EVE Online, and should be removed.
• All Beep Media Player (BMPx) related variables (including bmpx_album, bmpx_artist, bmpx_bitrate, bmpx_title, bmpx_track and bmpx_uri) are obselete and useless, and should be removed because the package BMPx isn’t present on Arch and Hyperbola official repositories but Arch User Repository (AUR).
• [For Milky Way version 0.4.x only] All PulseAudio related variables (including if_pa_sink_muted, pa_sink_volume, pa_sink_volumebar, pa_sink_description, pa_card_name and pa_card_active_profile) are no longer used, and should be removed due replaced the default audio server with sndio.

Manual

• Contains non-FDSG compliant distros.
• Contains vague terminology.
• Requires users to use API for non-libre/free weather network service(s) (including The Weather Channel).

Within the current version of smplayer in the repositories a proprietary interface to Chromecast is activated and therefore a risk for privacy of the users as this hardware is the complete opposite of freedom.

There is only the source code of the client available and since years nothing more happened. With keybase joining “Zoom” nothing more seems to happen. Look also here in the forum: https://forums.hyperbola.info/viewtopic.php?id=368

The list contains some icons before being removed for displaying non-libre and trademark-related stuffs, which may infringe the GNU Free System Distribution Guidelines and Hyperbola Packaging Guidelines.
