Previously (with iceweasel), when I was saving a login for a website, I was able to remove it in :

Preferences → Security > Logins > Saved logins

With iceweasel-uxp, when I click on “saved logins”, it opens a box but it is empty, I can’t remove saved login. (They are saved because iceweasel-uxp suggests me to use the saved login for concerned website)

It behaves like a clean installation, does not import the configurations and data from a existing installation of icedove.

The wizard import does not work too. It returns the message:

No application to import data from found.

A workaround

What I miss very much is “mail merge”. For example, I had to send 102 personalized emails to my students, as the term is beginning. The only way to do that was to revert to the previous non-uxp icedove.

But but immediately after that, I reinstalled icedove-uxp, of course!

Another very useful addon is cardbook (or any equivalent) as it allows to work with remote calendars and contacts.

Actually, I don’t like to work with remote calendars or contacts. But some of my colleagues do. The only condition I set is to work with trustworthy providers using free software exclusively. But they do exist.

I used to be under the
impression that youtube-dl executes proprietary JavaScript, but I now
understand that it only *parses* the JavaScript to find the URL for some
videos. It doesn’t actually run the JavaScript, so it’s not a freedom
issue.

Youtube-dl only executes regular expressions [0][1][2]

you also remove the files that are just for testing [3][4][5][6][7]
and when compiling the program with libretools the test files are not placed[8]

I have consulted with other programmers and we have reached the same conclusion. Youtube-dl does not execute JS non-free, it only extracts the JS to read through python the URL‘s of some videos.[9][10]

The issues that I see with youtube-dl are rather in their form of development because it changes at every moment
