StableBug ReportVery LowVery Low[fail2ban] update dovecot failregex to support verbose ...Unconfirmed
0%
Task Description

Description:
The /etc/fail2ban/filter.d/dovecot.conf file has a failregex with the following:

^%(__prefix_line)s(?:auth|auth-worker\(\d+\)): (?:pam|passwd-file)\(\S+,<HOST>\): unknown user\s*$

and works with things like:

Month day time hostname dovecot: auth: passwd-file(user@domain.com,IP): unknown user

but with verbosity enabled in Dovecot, this output looks like this:

Month day time hostname dovecot: auth: passwd-file(user@domain.com,IP): unknown user (given password: password)

and in this case it doesn’t work, but it does if we fix the failregex if we replace it with:

^%(__prefix_line)s(?:auth|auth-worker\(\d+\)): (?:pam|passwd-file)\(\S+,<HOST>\): unknown user( \(given password: \S*\))?\s*$

with this new expression, it works with and without verbosity

And regarding postfix, to make it work correctly I “backported” some pieces from newest failregex:

/etc/fail2ban/postfixr-rbl.conf:

^%(__prefix_line)sNOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from \S+\[<HOST>\]: [45]54 [45]\.7\.1 Service unavailable; Client host \[\S+\] blocked using .* from=<\S*> to=<\S+> proto=ESMTP helo=<\S*>$

/etc/fail2ban/postfix.conf: (second failregex)

^%(__prefix_line)sNOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from \S+\[<HOST>\]: 45[04] 4\.7\.1 Client host rejected: cannot find your (reverse )?hostname, (\[\S*\]); from=<\S*> to=<\S+> proto=ESMTP helo=<\S*>$

I can create a patch if you want. Note that I haven’t tested all filters, some others may also need some rework

AnyBug ReportLowMedium[cryptsetup] when dmcrypt start, the "/" filesystem, m...Assigned

Task Description

When dmcrypt service start, the “/” filesystem is remounted, mtab is updated and bootmisc is recording the login users, by waiting time scheduling:

* root: waiting for dmcrypt (50 seconds)
* root: timed out waiting for dmcrypt
* Remounting root filesystem read/write ...
* Remounting filesystems ...
* mtab: waiting for dmcrypt (50 seconds)
* mtab: timed out waiting for dmcrypt
* Updating /etc/mtab ...
* Creating mtab symbolic link
* bootmisc: waiting to dmcrypt (50 seconds)
* bootmisc: timed out waiting for dmcrypt
* Creating user login records ...

These features on dmcrypt service are useless and these lines print above filesystem passphrase order (the printed line), those ones break printed console and print the pressed keyboard digit when I’m setting up password.
Sometimes this breaks services startup, and I need press “enter” consecutively to allow run the services.

Description:
GNU Guix is a purely functional package manager that can coexist peacefully with GNU/Linux distribution’s native package manaer and allows unprivileged per-user software installation.
Guix depends on several guile libraries not yet present in Hyperbola repo that need to be packaged too.

I have already prepared the necessary PKGBUILDs (attached to this task)

and I’m only asking for checking if they’re ok (since it’s my first attempt at packaging) and adding them to Hyperbola.

I did have some doubts as to which versions of packages were I supposed choose (newest ones or ones that were available as of May 8th 2017). I am also not sure if guile’s .go files are architecture dependent (some existsing PKGBUILDs I used declare arches separately but one declares ‘any’). I might have also made some mistakes along the way, hence I hope someone experienced will take a look at it.

I really hope someone will make use of guix once it’s added :)

AnyImplementation RequestVery LowLow add yacy support for iceweasel-XP Closed
100%
Task Description

Description:

Searx is better in the short term than search engines like Google and DuckDuckGo in that the client-side JavaScript is free and the server-side code is free and public. However, in the long term it can never be a real replacement for non-free search engines while it relies on non-free search engines for data. At this time, the major general purpose search engines who use their own data are all controlled by corporations like Google and Microsoft. The YaCy search engine addresses this by relying on decentralized data based on p2p.

For this reason, I believe that YaCy is socially a better choice than Searx as the default search engine for Iceweasel-UXP. However, it is not at this time a practically better choice. Since YaCy relies on its users to index the web, and does not currently have many users, the search results are not very good. This creates a chicken-and-egg problem, since it will be difficult for YaCy to gain users while its search results are poor.

However, Searx supports YaCy as a source of search engine results. I don’t know of any Searx instances which have YaCy support enabled, presumably since YaCy support would only be useful to users who have YaCy installed locally and running on http://localhost:8090, but Hyperbola could run its own Searx instance, enable YaCy support plus DuckDuckGo, and make this the default search engine for Iceweasel-UXP. This way, Iceweasel-UXP users can use and contribute to YaCy, but supplement YaCy’s search results with results from DuckDuckGo until YaCy becomes strong enough to stand on its own.

Additional info:

* AUR package for YaCy: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/yacy

* Searx support for YaCy: https://github.com/asciimoo/searx/blob/master/searx/engines/yacy.py
