FS#177 - [gufw][firewalld] have errors

Gufw doesn’t stay on like it usually does when you leave the GUI.

FirewallD doesn’t turn on automatically, and won’t turn on period.

Gufw will not allow me to add any rules.

FirewallD is non-functional in general

That sums up my experiences and thoughts.

Closing per user Request. FirewallID is working.

Whoops, forgot to make this issue a high priority issue.

Well too late now...

I have been meaning to mention this, but gufw now can be turned on, but once you shutdown and reboot, it doesn't remember that its supposed to be on. So you have to turn it on again.

Although, the gui in applications doesn't work. But yeah, no matter how you slice it, both need work.

Firewalld still doesn't work at all.

Gufw gives a new error now:

(gufw.py:6926): Gtk-WARNING : Locale not supported by C library.
Using the fallback 'C' locale. (process:6947): Gtk-WARNING
: Locale not supported by C library.

Using the fallback 'C' locale.

I reinstalled my system, and it mostly works, except that once I log into my user account and do
sudo ufw status It says: Status: inactive

I am curious if you can upgrade it to debian stretch's latest package.

Reply if you got my message.

I am curious if you can upgrade it to debian stretch's latest package.

We are using the latest stretch version package for ufw. Anyway, we aren't following Stretch version releases because Hyperbola has its own packaging guidelines.
